FAQ

How does Farmplicity define “local”?

We define local as within 150 miles.

How does Farmplicity define “a little further than local”?

We realize that something delicious is something delicious and sometimes you just have to have it. If we find a high quality value-added product that is produced by a small producer more than 150 miles away but within one of the states touching Missouri, we'll label it "a little farther than local."

What options do I have when selling on Farmplicity?

You know farming or ranching like we know websites. We’ve designed Farmplicity to be as flexible as possible so that it will work the way you want it to work for your business. You set the prices. You choose a minimum order quantity. You choose Monday delivery, Thursday delivery, or both.

What do I need to join Farmplicity?

You need to be able to arrange for delivery to Sunfarm (2427 N 9th St., St. Louis, MO) either Monday, Thursday, or both. We also require and insurance certificate with at least $1,000,000 worth of liability coverage to be uploaded to your Bio page. You will be able to set a minimum order amount. You also need Internet access. If you don’t have either of those capabilities but you are still interested in Farmplicity, please do give us a call so that we can help you find a different option.

What happens if I don’t sell anything?

If you don’t sell anything, you don’t pay us a dime. But we won’t let that happen. Farmplicity offers a multitude of services that will help you make the most of our site. We can help you create a profile, photograph your product, or upload a listing. We are also actively involved in recruiting restaurants.

What happens if I can’t make the scheduled delivery day?

We will include the restaurant’s phone number in the order notification so that you can call them with an update. If that happens too often and restaurants begin to complain, we will work with you to figure out how you can make your delivery time more reliable.

What happens if they don’t like what I bring them?

Well, that's where the community part comes in. We would hope you could work something out with the restaurant you sold the item to. There is a feature for you to discount specific items for specific customers. A good solution might be a discount on the next order from that farmer. If not, contact us and we can help work out a good resolution. Unfortunately at this time, Sunfarm does not have the ability to credit the restaurant once it is out for delivery.

What happens if I create a listing but then end up with a lower quantity than expected?

Please update the quantity on your listing as quickly as possible. Farmplicity allows restaurants to view the quantities you have available in real time (the quantity automatically goes down when someone purchases your product) so they will expect you to have whatever quantity is listed.
